hi i'm jim, aka idleseas and sometimes rattiebastard, a multimedia artist from the midwest usa. If you're here you probably came from my little art shop, Rat's Trash Stash. I'm working on making a little bio/about/faq page and putting together some info for commissions & customs here! 🍄
I really prefer to do customs anyway, so if you see something you might like if only it was more your style, please just contact me! I promise I don't bite if I think you're about to pay me :) I might bite somebody for you, though. idk like. how much were u thinking about paying me. let's talk.
Q: are you still doing resin?
A: sometimes! again, though, i prefer to do commissions, especially for certain pieces. i'm trying to pour less and work with more natural & repurposed materials, which is what i usually do (hency why my shop is the 'trash stash').
Q: are you for hire as a photographer?
A: yes! i'll do just about any subject, and I'm even willing to travel within reason if my expenses are covered. feel free to email me, message me through facebook, or DM me on my photo insta page.
Q: do you sell prints of photos?
A: id like to have a storefront for prints eventually, but im still working on it at the moment. i'd be happy to print some off specially for you in the meantime, though.

Be as detailed in your description as possible, or I will take artistic license!
I try my best with resin, but I work in an imperfect environment with what tools I have, and have only been doing this for 2 years. I do NOT have a pressure pot!
Hand-poured resin is an unforgiving medium and often contains minor imperfections, such as bubbles, uneven thickness, minor debris trapped in the resin, a slight bendiness, or other small mistakes. These are to be expected even with customs; there is no way for me to predict them all. Consider it the charm of a handmade touch. :)
Additionally, all clear resin yellows eventually with exposure to light and time. Despite being plastic, these pieces are often fragile, meant for display or novelty only. I discourage handling them roughly or exposing them to extreme temperatures or conditions if possible. Remember, though some of these may be functional, they are still art pieces.
Considering all of the above, please know if you move forward and contact me with a commission, I'll assume you've read this! I insure my shipping, but once I've mailed off a piece, what happens to it next is totally out of my hands. I also reserve the right to back out of a transaction at any point, for any/no reason.

these are a great little item to have on an altar or in a curio cabinet. they're fun to play with ocassionally but ideally shouldn't be handled too often as I do not glaze the tops. this is to help the magnet trick work better, but the trade-off is that the paint job on the etching is less protected and may wear off with use or time.
